Temporary/Contract Staffing:
This group are the employees of The Personnel Department and work on your assignment by the hour or by terms of the agreement we reach. Typically contract or temporary staffing is a set period or duration; the margins/markups reflect the nature of the contract.
The Personnel Department will, as necessary, establish an "On Site" presence to serve the Contract and ensure that employees have direct employer and payroll - benefit access with minimal disruption to the client. Contract or Temporary staffing can be undertaken in any location required by the client.

Staff Recruitment:
Through The Personnel Department® division we place all positions below the $100,000 income level.
Our experience includes the placement of approximately 300,000 positions since July 1980 when The Personnel Department® opened its doors.

Through the Galt Global Recruiting division our organization provides senior recruitment services for persons in positions over $100,000. Comparative Salary Information:
Introduced in 2005 as The Personnel Departments 25th Anniversary legacy project, THE Salary Guide is a free human resource tool to participating member organizations. THE Salary Guide has been busy every week updating salary information through our sources and those of the participating organization. We are, at present, completing a significant statistical update on salaries; as part of our double blind input process, that ensures twice a year that no source has been overlooked.
THE Salary Guide will keep you informed of your organization’s salary competitiveness and will provide complete unbiased up to date information in a rapidly changing market. Data is derived from thousands of employers and many reliable statistical sources; it has a real world comparative value due to this broad community base. The data on this site is recalculated weekly, making the information the most up to date available in your area.

Performance Improvement Tools:
  • The Sales Prospecting Assessment (SPQ Gold) is the ultimate sales force enhancement resource; which measures the capacity a seller has for prospecting. All sellers can be “closers”, but to maximize sales they first have to be “prospectors” to get to the next base.
  • Remedy Provided: The assessment we use initially identifies any factors that are present and likely to block prospecting activity. Our system then provides the remedy that can be applied to overcome any prospecting blocks. Our Vice President Customer Experience is certified to coach client or their staff on available remedies.
    One additional sale will more then pay the cost of the assessment.
    Use the Assessment to assess your existing sales force with a view to specific training and upgrading or use it to hire new staff with the certainty of hiring for success.
    This assessment is so good we use it ourselves as a primary recruitment aid.
  • Fit: we’ve all heard the word. People often refer to the word ‘fit’ when hiring. Fit is measurable, so how do clients measure the ‘fit’?
    When used in conjunction with quality background checks and the skill assessments featured by The Personnel Department, our FIT assessment makes the difference between a planned retention and recruitment promotion program, and a ‘gut feel’ recruitment decision.
    Chemistry (that gut feel factor), when combined with science (the FIT assessment), will do wonders.
  • The Team Fit Assessment (Kolbe) defines how people work. Once completed, a client can start building teams around the proven matrix of work habits. There is no right or wrong, just a better fit for the role.
    This resource is a program that is continually improving, and it provides information that managers can refer to for simple problem solving exercises.

Immigration Consulting:
The Immigration Consulting Service was launched in December 2006. The service consists of two parts:
  • Immigration Consultation to clients who then recruit themselves
  • Foreign Worker Recruitment for clients who wish to delegate this task
Clients will be working with Licensed Immigration Consultants, who will deliver current knowledge of recent developments and trends, and will accordingly provide clients with the most realistic options.
We accept applicants from all over the world and have already to date, sourced workers from Mexico; Guatemala; India; Philippines; China; Hong Kong; New Zealand; South Africa; Brazil; Germany; France; UK; and Iran.

Performance Benchmarking:
The Personnel Department’s Predictive Benchmarking System is the outcome of over 14 years of Research & Development.
The system is used to identify candidates’ attributes and then compare them to the attributes of recognized successful employees, within you organization.
Employers have used it to select employees who are most likely to succeed in a position – reduce turnover or enhance safety outcomes.
This system has been proven 94.5% effective and is the only Profiling system, that meets or exceeds all Employment Standards and EEOC requirements to be non discriminatory.
The system is scaleable and is a “learning” system that adds value for many years to come for one modest investment.

Employee Leasing:
Employee Leasing is designed for the client who has recruited personnel to undertake work on their behalf, but who does not wish to be the employer of record for those people. Employee Leasing ideally suits clients who have contract work which spans a period of time over some years, or those clients who wish to bring back employees for a specific period of time. The employer may wish to ensure that people hired for term positions are aware of the fact that there is no intention at the time of recruitment for that term position to become a full-time position. While working at the direction of the client on client rosters, the employee will have all personnel related matters dealt with by The Personnel Department.
